Defining and Managing an Artificial Intelligence Proof of Concept
Evaluate an AI solution for business processes before considering a broader deployment.

The Mission at a Glance
The Company
An Energy Group
Background
An energy group wanted to explore the automation of internal processes using AI. The first step was to define the scope of a proof of concept, select partners, and organize testing with the business and technical teams.
The Challenge
Internal processes to be automated, with the need to test the suitability of an AI solution within a defined scope.
Our Approach
The Process, Step by Step
Assessing Business Opportunities
PALMER analyzed its internal processes to identify those for which automation using AI would be beneficial.
The work was based on operational needs and potential efficiency gains. This feasibility study made it possible to select a pilot project aligned with the group’s objectives.
Defining the Scope of the POC
The scope definition specified the targeted processes, the teams involved, and the validation objectives.
PALMER organized the scope of work and the resources required for the proof of concept. This definition ensured that the experiment remained manageable and compatible with the project’s scheduling constraints and dependencies.
Selecting Technology Partners
A request for proposals was issued to identify suitable solutions and partners.
The project team coordinated the various work streams and managed the business and technical contributions. Integrating the work into the existing organization was one of the key areas monitored during implementation.
Testing the Solution and Piloting the Trial
Tests were organized to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the solution within the defined scope.
PALMER monitored resources and interactions between teams. The POC served as a validation phase intended to inform the decision regarding a potential broader deployment.
Work Completed
What the “
” initiative has implemented
